A Small, Intimate Civil Montreal Wedding: Love, Family, and an Epic Sunset

Sometimes, the most unforgettable weddings aren’t the big, elaborate affairs—they’re the intimate, meaningful ones. This Montreal wedding was exactly that. It was a day filled with love, family, and spontaneous moments, made all the more special by an epic sunset that seemed to last forever.

The bride and groom kept things simple, with only their closest family in attendance for the ceremony in a beautiful public park. The park’s natural beauty, set the perfect scene for their vows. A few friends who had heard about the ceremony decided to stop by, making for an unexpectedly sweet moment as they congratulated the couple and added a bit of joy to the intimate affair. The intimate 6-hour package was perfect for them.

We started in their home where they got ready together (MY FAV). The bride looked absolutely stunning in a dress from Jenny Yoo Designs—sleek and effortless, just the way she wanted it. Her hair and makeup, done by the amazing Chelsea Dawn, were soft and natural, letting her natural beauty shine. And the groom? Dashing as ever in a perfectly tailored tux from Halim at Suit Centre.

Once the ceremony wrapped up, the newlyweds headed to Monarque in the Old Port for a cozy, memorable reception with family. The restaurant’s chic yet relaxed atmosphere was just right for this intimate celebration. Delicious food, great company, and the kind of vibe that makes you feel right at home—everything about the evening felt so personal and special.

The bride’s homemade cake was so awesome. Yes, you read that right—she baked it herself! Sure the text didn’t quite hold up but I still really love it (if not more!) The treats were a labor of love and an extra personal detail that made the day even more unique.

As for the bouquet, Monarque Florals worked their magic, keeping it simple but elegant. And let’s not forget the shoes—the bride kept it stylish and comfortable with a pair of Aldo shoes, making sure she could walk all day without a care in the world.

But the highlight of the day? That sunset and the night street of the Old port. As the ceremony ended and the couple shared a quiet moment, the sky exploded into the most beautiful array of colors. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It was one of those moments you can’t plan, but when it happens, it feels like magic. Then we head off to the restaurant and took a little detour to walk the streets for more photos.

This wedding might’ve been small, but it was filled with big love and even bigger memories. It just goes to show that you don’t need a huge guest list to make your day unforgettable—sometimes, it’s all about the people who matter most and the moments you’ll never forget.
