J + C | Montreal Wedding

Hello friends, Today I’m showing you one of my favorite weddings from last year (2018).  Everything worked out. The weather, the locations, the outfits, the socks (haha), the PEOPLE (the wedding party was so awesome with all of the needs of the B&G) and it helps that this couple looks like they belong in a magazine. AA wedding full of happy people just makes me happy.

It didn’t start out that way, however. Truth be told, I was a little nervous leading up to the wedding. The easy explanation is because the bride kept telling me that she was A-typical and that she might be a little hard to deal with (her words, not mine). It scared me (!!!) because when someone states that they are difficult … They usually are. I should know … I do it all the time myself.

Well, I’m happy to report that they were amazing and not “bridezilla-ish” at all! They never are! #imtoolucky. Like I said… One of my favorite weddings. It’s understandable to want everything to work out as planned on your wedding day. You spend over a year making sure everything works out and you get really attached to a scenario that plays in your head over and over again. This brings me to a point that I would like to share with people that are planning their day.

On your wedding day, a lot of people will give you instructions on how things “need” to be done. Stand there, walk here, give your hand like this … Along with holding on to the general plan of how you think the day “has to go”, you could fall into the trap of being in your own head a lot for fear of messing up. But you know how to stand, you know how to walk and you know how to let someone hold your hand… so relax. Once the day comes, you know what to do. It’s embedded. So just go with the flow and let it flow naturally out of you. Because perfect doesn’t exist. Smile when you feel like smiling and cry when you feel like being emotional. Let the day sink in. Take it in. The day will pass way to fast. Being in your head for fear of doing something wrong will make everything look static and weird.

Oh..also, when using sparklers, make sure you get the right ones. The long sturdy ones. Or else, we’ll have to result in me screaming to everyone “TURN ON YOUR FLASHES” during the first dance. Which worked out well hahaha. Lucky for me, everyone is too attached to their phones and bring them everywhere. 😉

That’s it. Enjoy the wedding <3
