My trip to Scotland
What do you do when one of your besties finally decides to take a badass [dare I say very complicated] trip to move herself and her dog to Scotland for 6 months? You buy a ticket and YOU JOIN HER. The UK has shown to be very “touchy” when it comes to accepting dogs. If you do it by land, however… Come on in! As long as you have a return ticket already booked… Fair enough, I guess.

This trip included taking a plane from Montreal to Amsterdam, a VERY expensive taxi ride, a 16-hour ferry (or should I say a cruise ship) to New Castle, a bus to a train, followed by another taxi, to finally get to Edinburgh in the most amazing apartment where Rox would be spending for some time before finding her own place.

For the first time in 15 years, I decided to NOT bring a professional camera and opt for a Fuji X70 point-and-shoot. Most people won’t get this but … that’s a pretty scary thing for a photographer who is used to controlling everything on a big camera. But it turned out to be amazing! Must do again! Not only because the photos are actually fun to look at but mostly because I’m VERY HAPPY I didn’t have a big thing to carry around over all the stuff Rox had to bring lol.

All hands were literally on deck when it came to transporting luggage and a 48-inch crate.

A fun 10-day journey to get to know Amsterdam & Scotland while making sure your friend gets there safely.
