T + J | Coteau Rougemont Wedding

Today, I would like to present to you the wedding of T + J.

An amazing affair held at Coteau Rougement. So the day started out kinda worrisome. While driving up to Rougemont, the weather was teeeeeerrible. I’m talking torrential rainstorm. Such a shame since we all know that ceremonies done at Coteau Rougemont are outdoors. Thing is, something you learn after being a wedding photographer for 10 years, is that just because it rains in the AM, doesn’t mean it will rain all day… actually, usually, it’s a few hours MAX.  In the summer (late June, July, early August), rain is very common because of condescension, right? It’s completely normal that the skies need to “do their thing” and expel the water accumulated at least ONCE in a day. Often, it’s when the sun is gone. Sometimes it’s before the sun reaches the highest point.  90% of the time, clouds are just passing through. Actually, 2/3 o’clock is the safest part of the day in the summer when it comes to rain. As a photographer, when it rains in the morning, I’m happy as it means that the skies have done their “business” early. Hehe. If you are having an outdoor ceremony, don’t be afraid to “hold your ground” until the VERY LAST POSSIBLE minute even if the venue keeps pushing. I’ve photographed a wedding once and it stopped raining 5 minutes before the ceremony. I gathered the guests and asked everyone to GRAB A CHAIR and we all headed outdoors… and the ceremony was on time. I understand that your guests are there to have a good time and you “don’t want to bother them” but … they are also there for YOU. Don’t be one of those people who regret their decisions and saw “Ahhh. I should have just asked.”  unless I’m your photographer … cause you best believe that I WILL ASK. #YourBouncerPhotographer

Needless to say, when I arrived at the getting ready location and I saw T’s worried face, I was all confidence… and I was right. (I love being right) After 1 or 2, the clouds cleared up and we were able to have our outdoor ceremony.

This wedding was special in many ways. First, it was a joy to photograph VISUALLY – the decor was on-point – and it was a joy EMOTIONALLY – These people all love each other so much. I cried a LOT.

There’s honestly so much I could tell you about this couple and their day but we would be here for an hour. So instead, I’ll share their images along with the teaser video shot by IOAN FILMS (scroll to the bottom to see)

From the moment we met Isa during our engagement shoot, we knew we were in good hands. Her vision, creativity, direction, and composition are an organic experience, never seeming staged or forced. She takes what she has to work with, and, magically, creates truly beautiful photographs while capturing the very essence of her subjects. During our time with Isa, we almost felt as if she had known us for years – she knew how to make us laugh, how to make us comfortable, and exactly what we wanted. She has an incredible presence and energetic aura that is there from the moment she arrives until she takes her very last photo.

I also feel compelled to mention that during the wedding planning stage, no matter the question, time of day, or relevance to photography, Isa would always be there to answer any and all queries we had. The fact that Isa was willing to help with anything at all wedding-related was beyond appreciated and helpful. It’s as if Isa’s goal is to make your wedding experience the least stressful it can possibly be. Oh, and check out her blogs for super helpful tips as well.

On the wedding day itself, Isa again went above and beyond “photographer” by helping throughout the getting ready process; from helping me with my dress to keeping me calm about the weather. This was, again, so incredibly appreciated.

I can go on and on, but, in short, Isa is a true professional- she knows how to get people to look their best in every.single.photo, and makes every object look like a stunning work of art. She is also the coolest person ever. We would highly recommend Ella Photography one-hundred-million percent; Isa took our already high expectations and exceeded them beyond our wildest dreams.
