D + E | Saint-Armand Wedding

I just had the most exhausting two weeks. My website server got hacked and I invaded by malware. This bug would go and change my index page with some weird code and then my websites would go offline without telling me. Yes, I said websites … with an “s”. I have a lot. Who knows how many leads I lost … for months! Ugh. When I finally figured out what was going on, I put a plugin that would at least tell me when my page would go down so that I could go and replace the index page from a backup. But, I still had to figure out how to FIX IT! Turns out it meant I had to start everything from scratch. So I did that for the past two weeks. Which is why I have, yet again, brand new websites, including this one.

I’m telling you this story because I want to warn you! If you have a business or simply a website… Make sure to get protected. Get a bunch of plugins (like wordfence) and security for your pages. It is NOT fun to have to redo everything.

Ok. Enough with the bumout. As I was going through my old blog and transferring my posts, one by one… I realized that I really realllyyy didn’t blog a lot of weddings. Wow. I’m so behind! And obviously, since my editing style did change 2 years ago, Most of my weddings from the past don’t really work with my current style. So today, I went through a wedding and RE-edited it to be able to show it to you. I’ll keep doing that in the future.

The wedding that I’ll be showing you today is one that’s dear to my heart. It happened in 2015 (i know) but the groom is a friend of mine. We actually were in a band together for a long time. And he’s also was an awesome band photographer and videographer. What I remember the most about this wedding is when David told me about meeting Evie. We were randomly saying hi to each other on Facebook chat when he told me that he had just met the woman he was going to marry. He was sooooo excited and, as it turns out, completely right … because a few years later, he was asking me to shoot his wedding.  Don’t you just love happy endings?

They had the most perfect wedding at le Domain du Ridge in Saint-Armand. They rented a HUGE chalet for ALL their friends for the whole weekend, got ready all together, took a school bus to the venue and partied all night. This wedding really shows you how amazing weddings could really be. Unfortunately, sometimes, weddings could get really cliché and a little “fake” quite frankly but then, some people come around and really remind me why I love doing this so much. This wedding really shows you how you could make a BIG moment (like getting married!) and turn it into an incredible event for everyone. Let me list a few for you. These two:

– Invited only the closest, dearest people to them
– Rented a WHOLE CHALET and invited everyone to sleep there all weekend
– Had transportation arranged for EVERYONE
– Got ready together so that everyone could be involved and helped each other out all day
– Everyone got to the ceremony spot and went up the aisle altogether. No joke.
– Everyone had their hearts of their sleeves that day. Emotions up the wazoo. Since everyone knew each other very well, everyone was hanging out and being awesome.
– Most Speeches were done during the ceremony as to have more time for dancing during the reception.
– Handwritten personal vows .. so much good crying.

Check out the photos. You’ll get to see my little 2015 baby face too.
