You guys are going to love this Intimate wedding. Actually, Its how I always told myself I would get married. Rent a BIG chalet, invite only the people that are a part of your life on the daily, have a ceremony at walking distance, stay together most of the weekend.

This wedding had it all, a lake, games, soccer, mom did the decor and flowers, friends helped with the setup and music, there was time to hang out and do whatever you want, so much love… It wasn’t stuffy and formal, it was comfortable. Helena and Jean-César planned this small wedding in 2017 and invited me to join them for 8 hours. Actually, JS did most of the planning. I didn’t meet Helena until the big day. Such a rarity these days.  We all know that brides are usually the ones doing all the planning. That being said, this woman did NOT stop smiling allllll day! So much love between these families. Although the ceremony spot posed a few issues in terms of lighting (bright sun and roofs are not our friends), this couple were SUPER WILLING to change things up in order to get the best photos for their big day. We 180’d the whole ceremony to avoid the direct lighting… which also made great photos for the entrance. I’m so lucky when it comes to amazing clients.

If there’s one piece of advice you could give other brides during this planning process, what would it be? Have a fiancé that can handle these things  (haha! best answer)

Having a “successful” wedding doesn’t have to be big and shiny. Some of the most beautiful weddings I’ve photographed were the ones where I manage to call everyone attending by their first name. People are much more comfortable when it’s smaller … and then, photos are more emotional and warmer because, in turn, they know me by my first name.
