Wedding FAQ

How many weddings do you book a year?

I only take a maximum of 25 weddings per year. This makes sure that my attention is focuses on my brides and grooms. Too many weddings is too much retouching! I also only book 1 wedding per day. that way it’s you an only you.

Do you travel for Weddings & Portrait Sessions?

Absolutely, I love to travel and discover new places. I take on contracts to many unique destinations. Actually, my rates are often lower than local rates. I know that an extra plane ticket is sometimes unplanned for. This is why my rates are lower. My goal is to give you the photographs you want, at a fair price.

Do you retouch ALL the pictures?

Yes I do! The reason people love my photographs is because of the look I give them. It take a lot of work to get it that way but it’s my pride so I retouch ALL your photos one-by-one.

Do you give Colour and Black and white?

No. The reason for this is simple. Black and white photos have a timeless feel to it. Although i loooveee Black and white, I feel like not every photo deserves to be converted. In short, 85% of your photos will be in beautiful color, and you will receive the black and white version of the photos that deserve to stay classic.

What if I don’t want you to retouch my photos? Will my prices by cheaper?

Nop, I do not give out photos that aren’t retouched.

Do we get the high-resolution files?

Yes, the High-Rez digital files on CD/DVD are available in all of my wedding packages; and they are delivered upon receiving your album if you requested one. Images are selected and edited at the Photographers’ discretion. Artists’ reserve the right to edit and release only those images deemed creditable as professional in quality and within the Photographers’ artistic standards. Portrait and Lifestyle session’s CD/DVD are sold separately.

How many images do you end up with ?

There’s an average of between 50-70 images per hour- more than a photo per minute! So you don’t have to worry that your event will be very well documented! Final amount can vary between 300-700 for weddings and 75-200 for Lifestyle sessions.

That’s a broad number. Can you give me something more exact?

No. You see, wedding photography is one of the most unpredictable, hardest types of photography in the business. We are placed in different situations and are expected to “manage”. Different colors, Low light, NO light, too much sun, harsh shadows, rain, lightning and, oh so much more. It’s hard to say how many photos you’ll end up with before we never know what could happen. Someone that has an outdoor wedding and a reception in a well lit room will get more photos than someone that’s in a small dark church and a reception outdoors, in the dark. It all depends of the light.

What is required to book you on my wedding?

I require a 1000$ deposit (500$ for small weddings) along with your contract to book the date. This deposit makes sure that I book your wedding Date in my calendar for you. It promises you that all my and time will be given to you. The remaining balance due 7 days prior to the wedding date. Please remember that dates are limited. They are first-come, first-serve – booked once I receive the contract and reservation fee. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Do you have insurance?

Absolutely. I have coverage through an awesome multi-insurance carrier.

How long does it take to receive my prints and album?

I process orders on a timeline basis. The first weddings of the year will get their albums and photos first. Generally you should allow 7-8 weeks for all print and card orders for editing/printing/delivery time. Also, any order received after November 20th is not guaranteed to be completed in time for Christmas. Please be prepared to get your order in early if you want prints as Christmas gifts. My albums take approximately 3 months to complete. These albums are custom-designed by me and printed by the best printing company.

Do you offer Video with your packages?

Soon! Very soon. I recently team up with a freelance videographer that’s been in the business far longer than me. Actually, he used to work with a big name in Montreal (can’t really say which company though) ;)
He’s great and knows video inside and out. Ask me about our prices. We are still working on providing you with samples though.

Do you have Boudoir parties?

Yes! It’s new too! I offer Boudoir sessions as Pre-wedding shoots as well as Boudoir Parties. They are really fun for Bachelorette parties too! When you book with 4 or more friends you save 200$ off individual sessions and the bride’s session is FREE. I also have the photoshoot in a luxury hotel room to make it even more special. Oh! Did I say that Hair and Makeup is included too?

Why is an engagement shoot important?

An engagement session is an opportunity for you to see how the photographer works. Is she slow and deliberate? Does she shoot “Shoot & Run” style? In fact, your engagement shoot is likely the first opportunity you have to spend any real time with your photographer since you booked them – take advantage of that! Ask questions, tell them things you love about photos, about yourself and your future spouse – the making of great photos has to be a collaboration – think of your engagement session as the first creative session that will result in great
photos on your wedding day.

I tell each and every client (and it really couldn’t be more true), that the more time we spend together prior to your wedding, the smoother things will go on your day. This is true for a ton of reasons, but the most important being is that you’ll get a sense of how I work, and I get an idea of how you best photograph.

Most of my engagement shoots takes place in and around
Montreal, but I encourage couples to schedule them in locations that are important to them. Did you have your first date at a bar near your apartment? Your first kiss on Mont Royal? Let’s shoot your engagement photos there – somewhere meaningful to you.

Investment

When selecting your photographer remember that a professional photographer is more than someone who simply takes pictures. I capture memories that tell a story, your story, which will last a lifetime. You are investing in photographic art. Session FAQ

What is included in our session?

Our sessions include 45 to 90 minutes of shooting (depending of your package) on location within the Montreal/Longueuil/Laval areas unless another location is arranged beforehand. If you need some ideas on locations, don’t worry I have plenty of suggestions! We also allow our clients to pick a location that might be special to them. Your online ordering gallery will be posted 2-6 weeks after your session is shot. The online gallery is where you can show the world your photos. Other products, including individual digital files, prints & albums are available for purchase à la carte unless otherwise noted in your package. The artists’ reserve the right to select the images included in the gallery. Images are selected and edited at the Photographers’ discretion and reserve the right to edit and release only those deemed creditable as professional in quality and within the Photographers’ artistic standards. All packages include of a high res disc of session images. The disc includes the images included in the client gallery (between 50-125 images are typically delivered on a session disc).

What should I wear to the engagement session?

Your session allows for two outfits total. Bright colors are always great. Being comfortable and being yourself is the most important thing. If you need any further direction, let’s have a talk and figure it out together.

Do you photograph newborns ?

No sorry, I don’t. I feel that to get the best photographs, you need to specialize in something and I choose weddings. I’m very busy already and taking on newborns too would be too much for me at the moment. Maybe next year! If you are looking to getting photos of your little one, let me know and I’ll help you find the perfect photographer for you.

What do we do if it is raining on the day of our session?

Generally if it is just a light mist, we will proceed with the session. We actually shot a few weddings in the rain and the pictures turned out amazing! Bring along an umbrella just in case! I take couples inside local coffee shops, under bridges etc. until the rain passes. However, in the case of heavy downpours, we will re-schedule the session for another time. Despite what some people may think, cloudy days are fantastic for photos.
